The Reserve Range
The Vinwood Reserve Range consists of a limited number of pieces made from rare and exceptional wine casks - each piece becoming a collector's item once all the available casks have been used.
The staves used for the Reserve Range are retrieved from 12 kilolitre barrels originally from the Cathedral Cellar at KWV in Paarl. These enormous casks were introduced to the cellar in 1930, having been imported from Nancy, France.
The French cooper marked each stave individually before dissembling and shipping them to South Africa. These assembly numbers can be seen along the edges of the Syrah Reserve table top.
The red stains on the legs of the Reserve chairs are the result of the ports and red wines matured in the barrels.
