Furniture Designs
The Three pillars of our design philosophy are form, function and simplicity. The subtle curve of the barrel staves dictate the outcome of the design process. Functionality and aesthetics are fused through simplistic design and balanced proportions.
We offer a standard range of products but also provide a custom design service.
Products
Household furniture:
Our household indoor and semi-outdoor furniture includes, amongst others: dining suites, lounge suites, occasional chairs, bar counters, bar chairs and bedroom furniture.
The Reserve Range:
The Vinwood Reserve Range consists of a limited number of pieces made from rare and exceptional wine casks - each piece becoming a collector's item once all the available casks have been used. The staves used for the Reserve Range are retrieved from 12 kilolitre barrels originally from the Cathedral Cellar at KWV in Paarl. These enormous casks were introduced to the cellar in 1930, having been imported from Nancy, France. The French cooper marked each stave individually before dissembling and shipping them to South Africa. These assembly numbers can be seen along the edges of the Syrah Reserve table top. The red stains on the legs of the Reserve chairs are the result of the ports and red wines matured in the barrels.
Guest house and restaurant furniture:
We have furnished several guest houses and boutique hotels with some of our standard products as well as custom designed furniture to suit the particular client's needs. Some of these customers include Lovane Guest Farm, Kingsriver Estate Guest House, Stellenbosch Hotel, Devon Valley Hotel Hunter Hotels and Three Lilly Buds in Sweeden.
Wine Cellars and Tasting rooms:
Wineries have a natural appeal to our product because of its wine-origin and connection. Some tasting rooms we have furnished include: Spier Estate, Boschendal, Bilton, Devonvale, Walehaven Wines, Jordan Winery and Zorgvliet Wines.
