The Manufacturing Process - Hand Crafted Furniture
Our manufacturing process relies largely on skilled labour as the nature of the curved barrel timber demands hand selection and hand crafting. Most woodworking machinery is designed to machine straight sections of timber. The wide range of different types and sizes of barrels available requires hand selection of the right barrel stave for each furniture component.
We have developed various unique tools and processes of lamination, joining and machining to enable our craftsmen to work within the limitations of the shapes and sizes of the different barrel staves. In all our designs, the natural curvature of the staves can be seen and are put to good use to enhance the style and comfort of each piece.
